Neuroscience Principal Investigators

The mission of the NCBES Galway Neuroscience Centre is to develop Neuroscience in Galway through research, education and community initiatives. The Cluster is truly multidisciplinary in membership, bringing together researchers from a range of clinical and preclinical disciplines, which enable the investigation of CNS disease to be explored at a number of levels.

In recent years, the Centre has benefited enormously from the recruitment of a number of research-active academic positions within the Neuroscience area. This has provided opportunities for a range of research areas and approaches to be established within the Centre, with ongoing research projects in the areas of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, depression, schizophrenia and pain.
